Children’s Play
Every post on Kids games has so far turned into a post for adults, given the nice surprise that finding awesome games in this section always is. Today’s, however, is a special post for the kids, which doesn’t mean grown ups won’t enjoy it as well: contrary to popular belief, these games make a lot of sense and are extremely fun, and they may also remind you of all the great times you had when you were a kid. So, in any case, this is a post for the kid we were, who still lives inside each of us.
Ronnie the Armor is the first of the day, and having it be a sort of dress-up game is quite fitting: whether by playing with dolls or with action figures, we all have done something like that in our childhood. In this case you have to design your own character, naming him and gearing him up with all kinds of weapons (guns, swords, you name it), armors and clothing. You can even add animations to the background!

Now, who didn’t watch Tom and Jerry as a kid? Let me know and I will officially declare you an alien. So, as a tribute to that wonderful cartoon we have spent so many hours watching, we have Tom and Jerry House. The game is set as a regular episode of the show: Tom has caught Jerry stealing cheese from the fridge, so you have to help him evade the obstacles and get to the mouse hole before Tom uses him for a sandwich. Then again, this can also be the means to channel all those years of frustration on the cat’s behalf…

Another good old friend from childhood is Tarzan. Yes, I’ll admit it, I’m a huge fan of the comics, the movies, everything, so I jumped at the chance of reviewing what looked like a Tarzan game. Well, this is nothing like it: it is Prince Of Thomond. As the title says, you are a young prince fighting to save the spirit of the forest with the power of your ax, which you can throw by pressing the space bar. Still cool, huh?

In any case, we do have an advantage that comes with being adults: we get certain references that kids don’t. For example, we are all well acquainted with the phrase “run Forrest, run!”. Well, here is a new, better, super-improved version of that: Run Batman Run. This is a rare kind of game, the comedy-adventure type. Basically, Batman just got caught running his mouth at his mother (which is kind of hard, considering he actually becomes Batman after and because of her death, but bear with me) and now the police are after him. Of course, craziness ensues. The game is both fun and funny, with instructions delivered a la Adam West: “use the bat-mouse to move. Click on the bat-mouse’s bat-button to bat-jump”. So come on: you cannot let Christian Bale and all the fanboys around the world down.
So, if there isn’t anything better to do, play these games. You’re bound to have fun, even if by remembering all the things that you did a long time ago.
