Skateboarding Games
The Sports Games section is a comprehensive place, in which you can find something on almost any sport in the whole world. Skateboarding is usually a fan favorite, mostly because the sport itself requires such a skill than most of us will never manage to get a trick right even after practicing it every day of our lives (provided we can stand on the skateboard for more than ten seconds without breaking a leg or something). The following is just a sample of the different types of games you can find even restricting the offer to this very specific topic.
Stan Skates is the most basic of all four skateboarding games featured today. You are the title character as he hits the streets on his skateboard. The goal of the game is to complete each level while collecting different tricks or abilities that will allow you to overcome bigger obstacles. Your control over Stan is actually quite limited (you can only make him jump, by hitting the space key, and use his special moves, by hitting the up arrow key); he moves and gains speed on his own, and that makes the game all the more challenging.
On the same vein, Crazy Skateboard is a very simple game. You can choose between a skateboard and a kick scooter, and the objective of the game is to complete each level in less than a minute. In order to do that, you have to hit the up arrow key as fast as you can to gain the required speed. You can also lean forward or backwards in order to gain balance while doing a jump and overcoming obstacles.

Pro Skate, however, comes with a twist: your avatar is subject to ragdoll physics. That, as usual, doubles the fun – and the challenge, since keeping the balance is a lot more difficult that in the other games. On top of that, you are required to hold your skateboard as you jump, adding a bit more complexity to the task. The goal of the game is completing the level while collecting as many stars as possible, starts lodged in places that require you jump and perform as many tricks as possible in order to reach them!
And then you have Downhill Jam, which really is something else. This is a 3D, very complete, extremely realistic game. You have to go from one side of the city to the other, collecting as many shoe boxes as you can without getting hit by a car (and without hitting one yourself). Getting used to the controls is very easy, even when the game is only one level long. However, the large number of bonus points that you can collect demand that you play over and over again in order to improve your performance, ensuring hours and hours of fun.
These games, then, allow us to live a little through our avatar, giving us a chance to make true our wildest X-Games dreams.
