Favorite Action Games Of The Week

What makes a game great? Complexity? Difficulty? Concept? Whatever one’s preferences may be, I suppose we can all agree that the most important thing a game should be is, well, fun. Why would anyone play, otherwise? Additionally, if someone is looking for an action game, then that is what will make him or her happy. Action pouring over the screen.

Developers aim at this when coming up with a new game, and that is when graphics come to play, making the whole thing as appealing as possible so that marketing people won’t have any problems showing us exactly how much fun and action we will get with it. However, these two qualities may be found in the most unlikely places. Simple-looking action games can be complex, difficult and a lot of fun too!

Take Ultimate Assassin 2, for example, in which you become a spot in the screen. As a matter of fact, that is a key element in the realization of this exciting game, otherwise you would never be able to effectively dispose of your target and avoid security guards in order to escape. Does that make your heartbeat slow down while your avatar runs from one hiding place to the other?  Not a bit.

Eridani is another good example. This space-themed adventure uses the first levels to help you get you in the mood, as difficulty increases. You build your own space station and find the means to increase your resources, repair damaged facilities, increase attack effectiveness and so on until the game becomes incredibly complex.

Options multiply in Stick War, also, in which you find yourself invested in the conquest of ten different kingdoms, through different means. You have to think strategically, build up your resources, and then throw yourself into the fight. The fact that we are talking about stick men here does nothing to undermine the intensity with which you will them to work faster, fight harder or simply run for their lives!

Lastly, on the same vein, you have Stick Brawl. Yes, a good old-style fight game, with stick men. Could possibly it work? Well, let me tell you: it does. You have four different levels throughout which you strive to survive while collecting different kinds of weapons, first aid kits and money that you obtain while fighting. And if you are feeling adventurous, you can always go into Arcade Mode and see how long you can last against endless enemies. That is what the game does to you: it makes you so involved that you can stubbornly fight for your stick life for hours on end.

So, what more can be said? Ultimately, these games hold their own against better-looking ones because regardless of appearance they are fun, witty and action-packed, which, in the long run, is what any of us game players aim for. There is no use for a game that bores us to tears but has mind-blowing graphics. Looking at the pretty gets old in an incredibly short time.
